Papers from the 24th International Toki Conference
on Expanding Horizons of Plasma and Fusion Science through Cross-Fertilization
Preface
The 24th International Toki Conference on "Expanding Horizons of Plasma and Fusion Science through Cross-Fertilization" was held in Toki on 4th to 7th November, 2014, organized by the National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS), National Institutes of Natural Sciences (NINS). This was the twenty-fourth meeting of a series that originated in 1989, when the National Institute for Fusion Science was established. The 24th Toki Conference was aimed at exploring new aspects and promoting the cross-fertilization of diverse fields of science through advances in basic plasma and fusion science. The topics for the Conference covered accordingly an extremely wide range of research fields of fusion science, plasma science, plasma application and astrophysical plasma science as follows:
- Frontiers in Basic Plasma Science
- Interdisciplinary Applications of Plasmas
– Industrial/Chemical/Medical and Agricultural Applications – - New Insights into Space and Astrophysical Plasmas
- Fusion Plasmas to the future
This special issue of Plasma and Fusion Research (PFR) contains 56 papers which were presented at the 24th International Toki Conference and accepted for publication after peer review according to the standards of the PFR.
