On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to Plasma Conference 2017 held in Himeji, Japan from November 20 to 24, 2017. Plasma Conference is a unique joint conference to cover all major areas of plasma research including basic plasma studies to plasma applications under one common platform. Plasma Conference 2017 will integrate 35th Symposium on Plasma Processing, 34th JSPF Annual Meeting, Physical Society of Japan, 2017 Autumn Meeting, 30th Symposium on Plasma Science for Materials.
The first Plasma Conference was held successfully in Kanazawa in 2011, hosted by the Japan Society of Plasma Science and Nuclear Fusion Research (in charge), Japan Physical Society, Division 2 (plasma), and the Japan Society of Applied Physics, Division of Plasma Electronics. Three major plasma related societies: the Japan Society of Plasma Science and Nuclear Fusion Research, Japan Physical Society, Division 2 (plasma), and the Japan Society of Applied Physics, Division of Plasma Electronics and the other Plasma related societies have been promoting this series in every three years. The second Plasma Conference was held in Niigata in 2014, hosted by Japan Physical Society, Division 2 (plasma) (in charge), the Japan Society of Plasma Science and Nuclear Fusion Research, and the Japan Society of Applied Physics, Division of Plasma Electronics. The number of participants of both Plasma Conferences was more than one thousand.
This time, we hold Plasma Conference 2017 in Himeji, from November 20 to 24, 2017. The 153rd Committee on Plasma Materials Science, Japan Society for the Promotion of Science has joined to host this conference. In this coming event you can see the basic plasma studies to cutting-edge plasma applications including a wide variety of industry exhibition of Japan. Himeji is most famous for its magnificent castle, Himeji Castle, widely considered to be Japan's most beautiful surviving feudal castle. The castle is designated both a national treasure and a UNESCO world heritage site. We would like to invite all of you to take part in this big event of plasma science and engineering in Japan. Young researchers and graduate students are especially encouraged to participate.
